In June of 2011, “Michelle Bachmann first announced that she was running for President at the Republican debate of presidential primary candidates” (NCRenegade). Bachmann is originally from Iowa, and was raised by a single mother. Bachmann currently has, “three degrees, two law degrees, the latter of which is in tax law” (NCRenegade). She also has worked at the IRS and in 1993 she along with other parents opened a K- 12 charter school, due to the mal opinions on Education. After being involved with the opening of the school, her political career began. “In 2000, at the age of 44, she ran against an 18 year incumbent RINO Republican for State Senator in a primary and won and then won the general election. Four years later in 2004 she became the Assistant Minority leader in the Minnesota State Senate. Two years after that, in 2006, she was elected to the US House of Representatives.” (NCRenegade) She founded and is the chairman of the Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives. Michelle Bachmann was a hard woman to fight against. In my opinion, she is a challenge alone. She was a challenge for the National Democrat Party without being the President. She also raised more money than any other Republican House Candidate, which was $13.5 million. She is a very powerful woman that loves to take challenges upon her. In my opinion this is what we need as a President, whether Republican or Democratic.
Bachmann is a very independent woman, and achieved all her challenges on her own, without having a husband, family, etc. as a helping hand. This is another thing that causes her to stand out as a woman, but most of all a candidate. “She had a 100% rating from the Club for Growth in 2010 and has a lifetime 94% rating making her one of the most principled conservative elected officials in the USA, proving she not only talks the talk but walks the walk.” (NCRenegade) This is proof to show that Bachmann has the perfect criteria to become a President. She has experience in all the right places that are need be. She has worked with law, taxes, raised money, worked as a Representative of the House, and many other things. Her entire life story causes her to stand out, and shows that she is more ready than others to take on the job.
Bachmann learned quickly that she did want to continue being a Democrat when representing Jimmie Carter in 1976. She was against how Carter’s policies hurt the poor and everyone else. After reading up more on economics and his policies she decided to become a Republican. This shows that she has had experiences with both sides while representing President Candidates. It hurts to see that she has dropped out of the race with all the experience and challenges she has faced. I know that Iowa is her hometown, and it might have hurt her to not win them, but she should have kept going. I had a lot of Faith in her and I seen her winning the race even though it was not a great beginning.
